The former child star has apparently hooked up with former French president Nicolas Sarkozy‘s younger brother, Olivier Sarkozy. “It’s true, they’re dating, and she’s definitely interested in him,” a source said. Ashley is 25; her new paramour is 42. Sources say their age differences suits her just fine. “MK is constantly complaining about boys not being mature enough for her,” the source explains. “She got the kids out of her system. Now being a businesswoman dominates her time, and she is rarely impressed with guys. “They are good for each other.” The once-divorced Sarkozy split from his last serious girlfriend, actress Stella Schnabel, in March. On April 25, Sarkozy and Olsen attended a Knicks game together and hit the Hamptons over Memorial Day weekend. Olsen’s most recent longterm relationship was with artist Nate Lowman, from whom she split in 2010.

Kathie Lee Gifford had a very awkward moment with Martin Short on the Today show Wednesday, when she complimented him on his marriage, not realizing that his wife died a year and a half ago. Gifford remarked that Short and his late spouse, Nancy Dolman, “have one of the greatest marriages of anybody in show business.” She then asked him, “How many years are you in love with her now?” Short didn’t correct Gifford, answering, “We…married 36 years.” Gifford replied, “But you’re still like in love?” Short said, “Madly in love, madly in love.” When Gifford asked him, “Why?” Short joked, “Cute. I’m cute.” Following a commercial break, Gifford informed viewers that Short told her that his wife died of ovarian cancer in 2010. She apologized both on the show and on Twitter. She tweeted, “I send my sincerest apologies to @MartinShort and his family. He handled situation w/enormous grace and kindness and I’m so grateful.” Incidentally, @MartinShort is not the actor’s Twitter handle. Short was on the Today show to promote his upcoming film, Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted. This isn’t the first time Gifford has committed this kind of gaffe. Back when she was one-half of Live! with Regis & Kathie Lee, she once asked guest James Taylor how his older brother was, apparently unaware that Alex Taylor had died over a year earlier.

Doc Watson, the blind Grammy-award winning folk musician whose mountain-rooted sound was embraced by generations and whose lightning-fast style of flatpicking influenced guitarists around the world, died Tuesday at a North Carolina hospital, according to a hospital spokeswoman and his manager. He was 89. Watson died at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, where he was hospitalized recently after falling at his home in Deep Gap, in the Blue Ridge Mountains. He underwent abdominal surgery while in the hospital and had been in critical condition for several days. Arthel “Doc” Watson’s mastery of flatpicking helped make the case for the guitar as a lead instrument in the 1950s and 1960s, when it was often considered a backup for the mandolin, fiddle or banjo. His fast playing could intimidate other musicians, even his own grandson, who performed with him. Richard Watson said in a 2000 interview with The Associated Press that his grandfather’s playing had a humbling effect on other musicians.

Emma Watson will be on hand at this weekend's MTV Movie Awards to present the first trailer for her highly anticipated big-screen adaptation of "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," but that's certainly not the only project on the starlet's plate. Teen angst seems to be on the menu as Emma will once again channel adolescent anxiety in Sofia Coppola's buzzy "Bling Ring." Inspired by an alleged, real-life group of teen bandits who burgled the homes of stars like Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan, "The Bling Ring" is flaunting its spoils courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, who is giving us our first official look at Emma and co. strutting their stuff. The actress recently took to Twitter to reveal details about her character, Nicki, including her penchant for "lip gloss, purses, yoga, pole dancing, Uggs, Louboutins, juice cleanses, iced coffee and tattoos."

Emma is flanked by a number of young stars in the photo, including "American Horror Story" actress Taissa Farmiga in only her second movie role. (Seriously, get this girl a YA adaptation, stat!) LOS ANGELES — Extreme Elvis Presley fans, take note: the King's original crypt at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Memphis, Tennessee that briefly housed Presley and his mother is up for auction, the Associated Press reported Monday.

The crypt, where Elvis was buried for a couple months before being being moved to his final resting place at Graceland, is part of Beverly Hills-based Julien's Auctions' sale of pop-music memorabilia taking place June 23 and 24, TMZ reported. Though the idea of buying the music legend's crypt may give some the heebie-jeebies, CEO of Julien’s Auctions Darren Julien doesn't think the item is creepy in the slightest. “I just consider that if you’re an ultimate fan of Elvis Presley, it’s an opportunity,” Julien told the New York Times. “It’s definitely a conversation piece. Only one person can say, ‘Hey, I’m going to be buried where Elvis Presley was.’

Ashley Judd’s husband Dario Franchitti won the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, making it the third time the talented driver has seen the checkered flag wave as he crossed the finish line. Of course, Judd, who is easily Franchitti’s biggest fan, knew her spouse would come out on top. Before the race began, Judd reportedly whispered in her husband’s ear, “I’ll see you in Victory Lane.” 500 laps later, her prediction had come true. Not only does Franchitti have the honor of being only the tenth driver to win the popular race three times, he also gets to bring home $2.4 million for finishing in the top spot. Not bad for a hard day’s work, especially when you’ve got Ashley Judd on your arm, as well. To celebrate Franchitti’s achievement, the couple took a victory lap around the track in one of the open-top pace cars.

BANGKOK (AP) -- Lady Gaga has met Thailand's premier "lady boys" at a Bangkok drag show featuring busty dancers who were not born that way. Diving in to the city's nightlife, the pop diva and an entourage from her "Born This Way Ball" took in a show at the well-known Calypso Cabaret, where she cheered on a transvestite review of Broadway show tunes. "A million people have to pay to see a Gaga concert, but Gaga paid to see our show!" cabaret manager Nipon Boonmasuwan told Friday's Thairath newspaper. When the performance ended, she took the stage to shake hands with the dancers and handed out six tickets to her Friday night show. Born This Way, the title track of Lady Gaga's latest album, has become a gay anthem. It includes the line, "Don't be a drag, just be a queen." Transvestites and transsexuals are known in Thailand as lady boys. Promoters confirmed Lady Gaga visited the cabaret Wednesday night, just hours after her arrival in Bangkok. Lady Gaga's Asian tour has generated publicity and often controversy at nearly every stop. In Seoul, fans younger than 18 were banned from Lady Gaga's concerts after Christian groups complained that her lyrics and costumes were too sexually provocative. It remains unclear if her June 3 show in Jakarta will take place after Muslim hard-liners threatened violence. Indonesian police initially denied a permit but later hinted the show could go on if she tones it down. Not a chance, said her manager Troy Carter, who told the Straits Times in Singapore on Friday that Lady Gaga "plays the show as it is" and has no plan to self-censor.

Beyoncé admits that she is "nervous" about performing a string of shows this weekend at Atlantic City's Revel Resort, her first since giving birth to daughter Blue Ivy Carter. "It is exciting. I'm a little nervous though," says Beyoncé, in a slickly-produced video called "The Making of a Concert: Part 1" posted to the star's Web site today. "It's like going back to my old job. It's a little strange. But it's important that you don't lose yourself and you still have your own passions. I'm back to work. I'm back to business." The video begins with a montage of the star, as assorted newscasters discuss the high expectations for her upcoming shows. After an interview with the songstress in her home, she is shown sans makeup, in dance rehearsals. Sitting cross-legged on the floor, Beyoncé tells her creative team, "What I'm trying to say with this show is, 'Yes I had a baby and it made me even more grounded and more like you." The miniature documentary also reveals Beyoncé in a musical arrangement rehearsal, singing "Halo." "You know I haven't sung in a year," says Beyoncé, getting excited as she hits the notes while accompanied by a keyboard. While most new moms are kept up at night by crying babies, Beyoncé admits in the video that she hasn't been sleeping because of her nerves over the shows.

Sitting on the floor in an office, amid a pile of sprawled papers, Beyoncé says, "This is why I didn't sleep night. This is why I went to sleep at 5:30 in the morning." Beyoncé's first show will be tonight.

British actress Keira Knightley, star of the upcoming film “Seeking a Friend for the End of the World,” is now engaged to James Righton of the rock band Klaxons, her publicist comfirmed Friday. Publicist Sara Keene said Knightley and Righton were not releasing details of the proposal and had no comment on wedding plans, according to the AP. No official representative for the legions of Knightley’s distraught male fans and would-be suitors was immediately available for comment, though many admirers expressed their disappointment on Twitter. Upon learning of the news, Twitter user @oh_its_chris wrote, “I better take my engagement ring back to the shop then,” and user @williamadkins_ wrote, “Keira Knightley is engaged? Damn, thought I had a chance.” But @ianbetteridge put it most succinctly: “NOOOOOOOOO!” @Endless_Blue called Righton a “lucky bastard,” though @ChrisRijanto thought the British keyboard player was more accurately a “lucky dude.” Actor and filmmaker Zach Braff was in tune with the sentiment and tweeted: “Keira Knightley engaged. Los Angeles (CNN) -- Sharon Stone's former nanny filed a lawsuit Wednesday accusing the actress of violating labor laws and making derogatory comments about her ethnicity. Stone called it "an absurd lawsuit" with "made-up and fabricated" claims, filed by "a disgruntled ex-employee who is obviously looking to get money any way she can." Erlinda Elemen, who is Filipino, worked as a live-in nanny for the actress for more than four years, until she was fired in February 2011, the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court Wednesday said. Elemen claims she was fired because she refused to give back overtime pay that Stone told her she did not deserve. Stone told her it was only in January 2011 that she learned from her accountant that she was paying her overtime when she worked holidays or traveled to care for her three children, the suit said. "Defendant Stone, however, accused Plaintiff of 'stealing' from her by taking the above-described overtime pay, told Plaintiff that it was 'illegal' for Plaintiff to have taken the pay, and asked for it back," the court filing said. Elemen refused to give the overtime pay back, arguing it was required by state and federal labor laws, the suit said. "Defendant Stone then began to repeatedly berate Plaintiff in front of her staff, guests and others, for a period of approximately three weeks, for no other reason than Plaintiff had received overtime pay as hereinabove alleged," it said. The nanny was fired "shortly thereafter," the lawsuit said. The suit claims the nanny was "repeatedly subjected to numerous derogatory comments and slurs by Stone related to her Filipino ethnicity and heritage" during the last six months of her employment. The alleged derogatory comments including criticism about the nanny's Filipino accent. "She was told not to speak to the children because Stone did not want her children to 'talk like you,'" the suit said. "In addition, Stone made comments which equated being Filipino with being stupid." The lawsuit also charged that Stone was "repeatedly verbally dismissive of Elemen's deeply held religious beliefs, criticized Elemen for frequently attending church and, on one occasion, even forbade her live in nanny from reading the bible in Stone's house." Elemen sought and was given approval from the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing to sue Stone for an unspecified sum for unpaid wages, damages and penalties, the suit said. "After she was terminated approximately one-and-a-half years ago, she filed claims for alleged disability and workers compensation," Stone said in a statement to CNN. "Now, she is obviously looking for another opportunity to cash in." She insisted she would be completely vindicated in court. "This is a frivolous lawsuit for absurd claims that are made-up and fabricated," Stone said.

Steven Tyler does not think that Mick Jagger did him justice while impersonating him on "SNL" this weekend. “Ohhh, [Mick] got it so wrong," Tyler tells the Web site Hollywood Life, pointing out that Jagger didn't attempt his signature yelp. "He could have done the, 'Yeah yeah yeah!'” Tyler was referring to a skit on this week's 'SNL,' titled "So You Think You Can Dance At An Outdoor Music Festival," in which Jagger played the Aerosmith frontman. In the skit, a parody of reality competition shows, comedian Bill Hader introduces the faux Tyler saying, "On loan from 'American Idol' and those weird Burger King commercials. We’re lucky to have her… Steven Tyler!” The screen then cut to Jagger, who wore a long black curly wig streaked with grey. He also wore a woman's snake print blouse, a jumble of necklaces, and a red bandana tied around his neck. Jagger squinted, to appear more like Tyler.

Tyler believes that the Rolling Stones icon at least looked the part. "I thought he looked good with long hair," said Tyler. "I’ve always wanted him to grow it back.” In the end, Tyler said he was pleased with his stint on "American Idol" being spoofed by "SNL." “It was good,” Tyler admitted. “It was fun."

Singer and reality TV star Ray J was hospitalized for "exhaustion and jet lag" early Monday morning, following the 2012 Billboard Music Awards.

TMZ reports that Ray J, whose given name is William Ray Norwood, was found in his hotel room appearing "out of it" and unable to get out of bed. The disoriented star was taken to a hospital for immediate attention and is still in the hospital's care.

The website reports that there were several causes for the singer's crash. Ray J, who dated Whitney Houston on-and-off before her death in February, reportedly had a run-in with Houston's sister-in-law, Pat Houston, before the fallen singer's tribute at the awards show. TMZ revealed that Houston reportedly asked security to remove Ray J from his seat after the singer's family was asked to move to the same area.

Chrissy Teigen received a torrent of death threats from Chris Brown fans who were angry about a comment the Sports Illustrated supermodel made towards Brown. The comment that Teigen made was, at best, a slight jab about Brown’s performance on Saturday night–but it was still enough to get under Team Breezy’s skin. So much so, in fact, that many flung violent statements, and even death threats at Teigen. “So excited to see Chris Brown! I love loud and surprising background fits of rage I can hear from the audience!” Read one of the tweets that sent Brown fans into a frenzy. “Why sing when you can dance?” Teigen later added. It only took moments before Teigen started receiving hundreds of attacks from disgruntled Brown fans. Some of the comments directed at Teigen were relatively minor attacks, but other, more extreme tweets called for Teigen to be “raped and murdered.” “”Reallllly makes me sad that 99% of the most disturbing comments come from young girls. I’ll end it there but it make (sic) me sad…” Teigen tweeted after receiving an onslaught of angry tweets. To Brown’s credit, he did try to get Team Breezy off of Teigen’s back. After being aware that death threats were being sent to the supermodel, Brown tweeted: “Team Breezy! Lets stop sending death threats! I know y’all bout that life but it’s the wrong message! Ur turning haters into victims!”

The "One That Got Away" hitmaker has decided not to pursue a relationship with the Florence + the Machine guitarist -- who she met at last month's Coachella Music Festival -- because she felt their respective working commitments would make seeing one another regularly too hard. A source close to Katy -- who separated from husband Russell Brand in December after 14 months of marriage -- said: "The main thing which led to her split with Russell was spending the majority of her marriage to him on tour and she said dating Rob felt like being with ­Russell all over again. "It's a shame as they both liked each other but Katy wants to be able to have a relationship with someone she isn't constantly having to work out what time zone they're in. "Rob was gutted but Katy said she didn't want to get in too deep and then break his heart so it was best to cut things off before they got serious." The split has come as a shock to friends as Katy had appeared smitten with the musician and they were in "constant" contact. The source added to the Sunday Mirror newspaper: "Rob was the first guy Katy had been with since splitting from Russell. "She was still extremely fragile but had told pals their two weekends at Coachella together made her feel 'sexy and alive' again. "Even when Rob left to continue touring ­America with Florence they would speak on the phone up to three times a day and she'd be constantly texting him."

John Mayer gave away intimate details about his personal life in interviews because he didn’t want to seem boring. The musician is famed for likening Jessica Simpson to “sexual napalm” when talking to Playboy in 2010, while he also opened up about his relationship with Jennifer Aniston in another interview. He has now tried to explain why he was so willing to discuss private matters. “I had nothing to say – I was going through a time in my life where I didn't really want to share what was going on, but I didn't want to be boring,” he told Guy Raz radio show All Things Considered. “I remember thinking to myself, 'We gotta give a Rolling Stone interview… I don't want anybody at Playboy to think this is a boring interview.' I got those lines so crossed, that what you read – among other things, obviously – is this complete miscalculation in why I was asked to do the interview.” John thinks the main issue was he knew he’d be expected to discuss his personal life, but didn’t really want to go into what was happening to him. That meant he embellished things. “I wasn't prepared to be honest, but I knew that I had to be open," he explained. "When you're just open but not honest, then you start free-associating garbage. It doesn't mean I can go back and scrub it out, but I understand it [now].” The 34-year-old remembers fearing his public persona was doing him damage. Some people found him annoying and he was determined to show he could be fun. “I'd read comments [that said], 'He's a d-bag.' And then you go, 'No, I'm not!' If you're a control freak you [think], I'm going to figure out a way to make that one guy say, 'He's not all that bad,'” he recalled.

So after some initial hesitation, Emily accepted the role of starring on The Bachelorette's eighth edition with the hopes of getting a second shot at finding a potential husband on reality TV and a suitable father-figure for her daughter Ricki. During a Wednesday conference call with reporters, the 26-year-old single mom talked to Reality TV World about her The Bachelorette season which premiered Monday night.

Lisa Marie Presley, the 'Princess' of Rock and Roll, is done fighting the legacy of her father Elvis. She is embracing her Americana roots, finding her own voice, and carving a niche for herself in the musical spotlight with new album "Storm and Grace," out this week. Presley, 44, the only child of The King and wife Priscilla, has come a long way since her first album, 2003's "To Whom It May Concern," and 2005 follow up, "Now What," admitting that she felt more vulnerable and rebellious with her earlier music. "I made some pretty angry and defensive (songs) probably anticipating what was expected of me and fighting against it ... there was a lot of production and hiding behind things, not really wanting to lay myself out there because I was afraid or feeling too vulnerable," she told Reuters. "Once I got that out of my system ... I just quieted and calmed down ... In this process of writing this record, I found a better bed for myself and my voice and my writing to lie in." Her previous albums were marketed for Top 40 chart success, a genre in which Presley said she never belonged. In an off-the-cuff remark she called "Storm And Grace" her anti-pop record. While Presley remains vague about the inspirations for the songs on her new record, the lyrics give her thoughts a voice. In "So Long," Presley sings "farewell fair weathered friends" in a place where "Churches, they don't have a soul." In "Un-Break," the chanteuse's sultry voice harks to her turbulent personal life in lyrics such as "I've got run over by my own parade, I've suffocated in the beds I've made." In "Sticks And Stones" the singer directly addresses her legacy and destiny, singing "too bad she ain't just like her Daddy ... she got no talent of her own, it's just her name." It is difficult to ignore the looming presence of Presley's father in the room, fueled by her striking resemblance to the rock 'n' roll legend, although she never once directly referred to him by name in discussing his legacy. "He really did make such an incredible change in the world and contributed so much that it makes me very happy and proud when he's acknowledged and recognized," said Presley. Her musical influences range widely, she said, avoiding mentioning her dad and offering a strong affinity for 1970s singer-songwriters Dan Fogelberg, Gordon Lightfoot and Neil Young, musicians who forged their careers following Elvis' success. Presley, who grew up between her father's estate, Graceland, in Memphis, Tennessee and Beverly Hills, California, found her voice away from American soil in the green suburban county of Sussex in England. "Storm and Grace," which harks to Presley's country rock roots, came to life at the hands of British producers and Grammy-winning country musician T-Bone Burnett in London. "The Brits tend to acknowledge and respect culture and tradition. (They love) what's amazing about Americana music, so they naturally respected and admired it, and it was such a natural progression," said Presley.

Mick Jagger is pulling double duty on the season finale of “Saturday Night Live” this weekend. The Rolling Stones frontman will serve as musical guest for a third time, with an assist from Arcade Fire, the Foo Fighters and Jeff Beck, and will host the show the first time. The famed rocker seemed very at ease alongside cast member Kristen Wiig in the promos for his episode, released earlier this week. In the actually funny clip, the 68-year-old musician made a guitar appear out of thin air through the power of television magic for Wiig, who it turns out can’t play. “That’s terrible. What a waste of magic,” Jagger declared. He also joked about being an Australian performance artist who just wants to kiss kangaroos and hinted that he may do another “Mick and Mick” mirror sketch. (See below.) While the season finale marks the first time Jagger has hosted the show, it may be the last time Wiig, Andy Samberg and Jason Sudeikis appear as cast members. Jenny McCarthy's career seems to have come full circle - returning to her roots with a Playboy pictorial and a dating show. McCarthy, who got her start appearing in Playboy in 1993, said she would like to pose naked in the magazine one last time before she turns 40 in November. She got her wish and will appear nude in the July 2012 issue of the men's magazine. "I would absolutely pose for Playboy. I would be so flattered if they asked me," the photo agency WENN quoted McCarthy as saying. "It's probably not going to happen but I think I want to do it again." McCarthy has appeared in Playboy 6 times and was named Playmate of the Year in 1993. Her most recent Playboy appearance was on the January 2005 cover (pictured above). She also hosted the Playboy TV series, "Hot Rocks," which played uncensored music videos. In February, it was announced that McCarthy had landed her own VH1 talk series, called "The Jenny McCarthy Show," which is set to debut later this year. The cable network said the program "will celebrate as well as skewer everyone and everything in pop culture, news, fashion, TV, movies and the web" and will "also feature guest panelists and celebrity interviews." The comedian and actress will also host a new dating show, the NBC competition series "Love in the Wild," which is set to premiere on June 7 at 8 p.m. on NBC. McCarthy got her start on TV hosting the MTV dating show "Singled Out" in the 1990s before appearing on her own comedy sketch show, "The Jenny McCarthy Show." She has also appeared on "Charmed," "Just Shoot Me!" and "Two and a Half Men." McCarthy famously dated Jim Carrey for about five years before they announced their split in April 2010. In 2011, she dated sports agent Paul Krepelka for several months. McCarthy is a single mother as well - she and ex-husband John Mallory Asher, a director and actor, have one son - Evan, 9.

Brooklyn Decker may not be a big name right now, but there’s a good chance you’ll know about her soon if you don’t already. She’s got not one but two big movies coming out today: “Battleship” and “What To Expect When You’re Expecting“, the ensemble-comedy based on the book of the same name. With newfound success in Hollywood, the Sports Illustrated swimsuit model says she still can’t get used to the fancy dress required of her and would rather wear a bathing suit than a ball gown. “It’s not that I’m comfortable in a swimsuit, and this is going to sound weird, but when you have a gown, there’s much more to be concerned about,” she says. “Where is this crease falling? Are you making a weird shape with the dress? Are you doing the designer justice? With a bathing suit, it’s more about you and the mood you convey. So, I feel like a bathing suit is a little bit easier to wear, not more comfortable but easier.” It’s a good thing she feels that way, because so far most of what we’ve seen from Decker has involved a bikini. Although she’s said she wants to find roles that put less emphasis on her physical attributes, it seems movie producers want to play up the SI model’s assets as much as possible; she’s sporting a bathing suit in both films being released today. Not that it’s a problem; Decker in a bikini may be the best part of “Battleship”.

Aishwarya Rai, who won the Miss World contest in 1994, is being criticized by several India blogs for not regaining her stunning figure after giving birth to her daughter Aaradhya last November. US Weekly reports that several critics have complained that Rai has “a duty” to her fans to maintain her figure and are upset that Rai has not yet shed her baby weight. One video, which has been viewed more than 500,00 times, shows before and after pics of Rai accompanied by elephant noises. One user writes: ”She is a Bollywood actress and it is her duty to look good and fit.” The commentators point to people like Angelina Jolie, Victoria Beckham, and Beyonce, who magically snapped back into their pre-baby bodies after giving birth. Another user writes: “Instead of losing some of her flab after her delivery the Bachchan Bahu has gained 5 or 6 kilos…we think it is time she hire a good trainer to help her sweat it out in the gym.” Some people, fortunately, are coming to the former Miss World’s defense. One user writes: ”She is a real woman looking after a baby. We should be concern [sic] for her health and happiness especially if she is nursing the baby. Supermodel Tyra Banks has been getting a lot of press this week for her “open letter to models” in The Daily Beast in which she praises Vogue magazine’s new pledge to stop using young teen models and those who appear to have eating disorders. This move, she says, could do wonders for little girls, who have been subjected to increasingly twiggy beauty standards. “When I started modeling, I used to see models who seemed unhealthy backstage at the fashion shows,” she wrote. “They appeared to be abusing their bodies to maintain a certain weight. These girls were booked over and over again for countless fashion shows and photo shoots. I’m sure many of you today have witnessed this, or even live it. Now, real progress is finally on the horizon. Vogue is stepping up, doing the right thing, and protecting that girl. Perhaps that girl is you!” Well, thanks for the encouragement, Tyra. Sort of. Because, really, that girl is decidedly not me. Or my daughter, I hope. See, what gets lost a lot in this whole “models are too thin and therefore bad role models for our girls” discussion is that maybe models shouldn’t really be role models for our girls. There’s nothing wrong with the “Vogue” announcement earlier this month. Nobody is going to take issue with Conde Nast International Chairman Jonathan Newhouse’s statement that “Vogue believes that good health is beautiful. Vogue Editors around the world want the magazines to reflect their commitment to the health of the models who appear on the pages and the well-being of their readers." But the idea that this will change body image problems for girls misses the point. The models in women (and teen) magazines will continue to be thin and beautiful. That’s their job. (I mean, it’s not like aspiring to look like Tyra Banks is not particularly attainable for most women, either.) And having "thin and beautiful" as an aspiration – perhaps not the loftiest of goal. So as Vogue changes its standards, what we can change at home is how we talk to our daughters about media, about the images in the magazines, and – all importantly – the way we absorb these messages ourselves.

Sadly, Mitchell Guist of the show, Swamp People, died Monday in Louisiana while loading his boat. The cause of death is unknown. However, the History Channel released a statement after he passed away. "We are extremely saddened to report that our friend and beloved member of the Swamp People family, Mitchell Guist, has passed away earlier today," the statement reads. "Mitchell passed on the swamp, doing what he loved. We appreciate your respect for the Guist family’s privacy and hope you join us in sending our thoughts and prayers to his brother, Glenn, and the rest of the Guist family." ~ History Channel and Original Media on the death of Mitchell Guist. The beloved Swamp People cast member died after suffering a seizure. Reportedly, he fell out of his boat on the Belle River, and was rushed back to shore, where CPR was attempted, according to the Hollywood Reporter. However, all efforts to revive Guist failed. He was later pronounced dead at a local hospital in Louisiana.

After months of frenzied speculation over which ludicrously famous artist Simon Cowell would be able to woo into a judging seat on The X Factor, the answer has finally been finalized. Britney Spears will be taking the seat left behind by Nicole Scherzinger... or wait, was it Paula Abdul's? Both were fired, as was host Steve Jones, after last season. Fellow ex-Disney princess Demi Lovato will sit in whichever seat Brit doesn't take. Both appointments were announced at Fox's Upfronts presentation in New York this afternoon (via Billboard), and were also confirmed via Brit's own Twitter photo. "Britney and Demi" is now trending nationwide on Twitter, because, duh. E! News reported last week that Spears' deal was confirmed, albeit by an unnamed "source close to the star," and that the grimy details were all that were being discussed up until the Upfronts. Brit has reportedly settled for a measly $15 million for the season. Yes, for one season. That's about two months of broadcasting (last season ran from October 25 to December 22), which equals roughly a $250,000 daily paycheck. For comparison, Abdul and Scherzinger earned a combined $4 million for season one. For that price, Spears could buy a whole new mansion and have some green left over! ARGATE- The funeral for former radio host and veterans advocate April Kauffman was held just days after she was murdered inside of her Linwood home. Hundreds came together at Beth El Synagogue in Margate to say their final goodbyes to April Kauffman, who was murdered inside of her Linwood home just days ago. "She's gonna be missed, certainly will continue to inspire us move forward to continue to support and care for those in need" says Andrew Malson, Sons of American Legion. "Terrible, absolute tragedy. What a terrible thing to happen in the beautiful town of Linwood" says Roseanne Finley, friend of Kauffman family. Both Dr. James Kauffman, April's husband, and her daughter Kim, spoke during the somber service. Kim read an emotional poem, while Dr. Kauffman said "I love and miss you so much. I don't know what to do without you. I hope to be with you soon". "Just astounding, I can't believe he was even able to stand up there, such a terrible tragedy" says Dr. Laura Bonaker, friend of Kauffman family, pediatrician in Plesantville. "Hopefully they catch the person and they get what they deserve" says Finley. While many questions remain unanswered, officials say that Dr. Jim Kauffman has gone ahead and hired himself an attorney. Dr. Kauffman hired well known attorney Ed Jacobs the day after the murder, the same day his car was towed away from the crime scene on Woodstock Drive in Linwood. The Atlantic County Prosecutor said everyone is being questioned after the 47-year old Kauffman was found shot multiple times in her bedroom. "It is horrible, Dr. Jim is very well respected in this community as a physician and so is April. To not know any information is a little scary" says Bridget Gaffney, friend of Kauffman family, Linwood. Jacobs says Dr. Kauffman has fully cooperated with the Atlantic County Prosecutors office and will continue to do so. "Dr. James last words were I hope to be with you soon and that would just be the worst end to this tragedy" says Gaffney. "Were just hoping they catch whoever did it" says Finley.

Eva Longoria has opened up about how she felt finding out that her husband Tony Parker had cheated on her. The "Desperate Housewives" actress admits that she did initially question herself upon discovering that Parker had exchanged hundreds of text messages with another woman. "It wasn't about who he chose. I mean, I had moments of, 'Am I not sexy enough? Am I not pretty enough? Am I not smart enough?'" Longoria said during an appearance on the Demi Moore-produced Lifetime series, "The Conversation with Amanda de Cadenet," last night. "But in so many of those questions, I immediately stopped and said, 'No, don't start doing that.' Because you can get stuck in that cycle." While reports have said Erin Barry, the wife of former NBA player Brent Barry, is the woman who came between Longoria and her husband, both Barry and Parker have denied an affair. Longoria didn't name names in her interview, but she did say that it took her some time to realize that Parker's actions were "definitely not about me." "Society usually thinks there's something wrong with the woman. 'Oh, he cheated on her, so she must not have been sexually satisfying him. She must have been a ball and chain!'" says Longoria. "Why did he have to have a reason to cheat that had do with me? ... I am so secure in who I am. I really am! And I'm not conceited. I just think, 'Wow, okay, that's the life you want to live.'" Longoria said that it was hard to confront Parker about his actions while remaining non-judgmental, but that it was important for her to do so. "Even having the conversation, I really wanted to provide a pillow for him to say and express 'the why.' Because I really wanted to know why," Longoria said. "[I said], 'I'm not going to judge you. I'm not going to be mad in this moment. I'll be mad later.' People say, 'What grace!' And it wasn't that. Evidence suggesting John Travolta was in New York at the time he is accused of committing sexual battery against a massage therapist in Los Angeles continued to build Thursday, with private flight-tracking information being offered in the actor’s defense and a costume designer vouching for his whereabouts. Early Thursday, flight information showing the actor’s plane leaving L.A. the evening of April 15 and arriving at a New York airport around 4 a.m. local time was published by TMZ, which had previously posted photos and a dinner receipt provided to several outlets by Travolta’s legal team that also indicated he was on the East Coast on the date the assault is alleged to have occurred. "Killing Season" costume designer Denise Wingate went on the record Thursday on the actor's behalf, telling TMZ that she had taken the wardrobe shots and was in Travolta's Greenwich Hotel suite with four other people for more than three hours on the afternoon of April 16. She said she also fitted "Killing Season" costar Robert De Niro at the hotel that same day and observed Travolta running lines for the movie. Before Wingate spoke up, the flight information appeared to close a small window of opportunity left open by the time-stamp on the photos. One caveat: As People pointed out, the flight info on the G2 cannot be cross-checked against public records, because Travolta participates in a blocking program designed for private-jet fliers who have registered security concerns. The photos themselves got a lot of scrutiny. While the New York Post noted that there was nothing on the pics to prove they were taken in New York, TMZ was comparing marble seen in the background of the pictures with a sales shot of a bathroom at the hotel where Travolta was staying (a reflection of a toilet is also visible in the pictures). Martin Singer, Travolta’s attorney, told the Post that the pictures had been taken at the designer’s lower Manhattan studio, adding that his team also had flight logs and a hotel receipt to prove his client’s whereabouts. A manager at Mr. Chow’s restaurant, where the receipt came from, vouched for the actor’s presence at the restaurant with several others the night of April 16, the Post said. In a civil suit filed Friday in U.S. District Court, the “Face / Off” and “Welcome Back Kotter” actor was accused by a “John Doe” plaintiff of sexual battery and assault allegedly committed during a 10 a.m. private massage-therapy session at a Beverly Hills Hotel bungalow April 16. The complaint was amended in a filing Monday to add a “John Doe No. 2,” also a masseur, who claimed he’d been sexually assaulted by the actor in Atlanta on April 28. Each man is seeking $2 million in general damages plus unspecified damages for emotional distress under California Civil Code 51.9, which covers sexual harassment where “a business, service, or professional relationship” exists between two parties. Also mentioned under different parts of the code: attorney’s fees, unspecified punitive damages and a $25,000 civil penalty in each case. Plaintiff’s attorney Okorie Okorocha told CNN on Wednesday that he had “droves” of potential plaintiffs “from different resorts from every state” lining up to be added to the complaint against Travolta, and that he only has to vet their evidence first. Okorocha, who was admitted to the California state bar in 2003 and earned the nickname “Dr. DUI” along the way, told CNN that his practice is focused on going after sexual predators. (CNN) -- Reese Witherspoon's mother wants a Tennessee judge to annul her husband's recent marriage because she says she is still married to him, according to court documents. "I love my husband and do not want a divorce," Mary Elizabeth Witherspoon said in a sworn affidavit. "We have been married for 42 years. He needs help." The couple separated in 1996 "because of his alcoholism, infidelity, overspending and hoarding," she said. Witherspoon, who said she speaks to her husband of 42 years "many times per week," learned through a Nashville newspaper announcement last month that John Witherspoon married "a woman named Tricianne Taylor" on January 14, the annulment petition said. Witherspoon, 63, said her husband, 70, denied getting remarried, but a marriage license was filed, the petition said. "When I confronted my husband, he said he didn't know who Tricianne Taylor was and that he did not remember getting married," she said. "I fear that he has early onset dementia," Witherspoon, who is a retired nurse, said in her petition, which was filed Wednesday. The court filing claims that Tricianne Taylor, also known as Patricia Taylor, is aware that he is still married because the first wife told her on April 30. "She refused to talk to me," Witherspoon said in her affidavit. "I also wrote her a letter stating that John Witherspoon was married and had two children and four grandchildren. I have had no response. But she clearly knows now that she is married to a man who is not divorced." Witherspoon raised concern that her husband is in danger. "My husband is diabetic, has heart disease, and is otherwise not in good health," she said in her filing. "He could easily die through lack of medicine, or too much medicine, or some other malicious act." He was recently "let go from his medical practice" in Nashville, where he worked as an otolaryngologist for 30 years, she said in the affidavit. The first Mrs. Witherspoon has a harsh assessment of Taylor. "My husband's spending practices have accelerated," Witherspoon said in her statement. "I now understand that he may have borrowed $400,000 at Bank of America and either forged my name or had his girlfriend posing as his wife sign. This past week he bought a black Cadillac." Taylor "attempted to crash the March 2011 wedding of Reese Witherspoon, but was denied entrance because she was not on the guest list," the petition said. "I have since learned from friends and investigators that Tricianne Taylor has attempted to borrow money as Ms. John Witherspoon," her affidavit said. "Also, she is living in the condominium owned by my daughter Reese. And she is driving our vehicles. I have also learned through an investigator that she has gotten my husband to sign a new will." Reese Witherspoon's representative said "no comment" when CNN asked about the case. CNN has been unable to contact John Witherspoon or Taylor for comment. Court filings do not identify their legal counsel.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Shock jock Howard Stern promised on Thursday to tone down his act for his judge's role on "America's Got Talent," in a shift from some of the controversy that has helped make his radio show popular and has shaped his reputation. Stern replaces Piers Morgan on the judging panel for the NBC talent show that returns for a seventh season on Monday. The choice of the radio DJ, known for sexually explicit language and satirical comments on race and religion, has already drawn protests from one TV watchdog group. But the 58-year-old Stern, who already holds a lucrative and free-wheeling gig on satellite radio broadcaster SiriusXM , told reporters in New York that he understood "Got Talent" was aimed at a mainstream audience. "I respect what 'America's Got Talent' is. It is a family show, it is not 'The Howard Stern Show', it is a show that I love. I have been watching it for years and I don't want to come in and do 'The Howard Stern Show'. I don't want to interrupt the flow of the show. I only want to make it better," he said. "If I try to turn it into 'The Howard Stern Show', it's not going to work. People are going to hate it," he added, while still promising to be direct. Stern was hired by "America's Got Talent" creator Simon Cowell and NBC executives hope the lanky host will drive millions of new viewers to the family-friendly show - the most popular summer TV program on U.S. television. They hope he will do for TV what he did for radio. Stern inked a five-year deal with SiriusXM in 2011 that nets him about $80 million a year, according to analysts. He brought an estimated 1.2 million subscribers to Sirius when he first joined the fledgling satellite radio company in 2006. "'America's Got Talent' is a perfect fit with me," Stern said of his new role. "What I like about 'America's Got Talent' is, it is true vaudeville. It is not Stern's first time on the small screen. During his career, he has taken his radio show to TV and produced a movie, "Private Parts," loosely based on his life. But he promised to shake up the talent show format. "I do think this kind of television risks going the way of the disco ball, that if the judges don't step up and offer real criticism that these types of shows will start to get too dull," he said, referring to some of the bland comments on "American Idol". Stern dismissed criticism by the Parents Television Council that his judging role would likely cause a sharp increase in explicit content on NBC. "You can't complain about a show until you see the show," he said, inviting critics to watch and see "if I am very subversive or whatever it is they imagine I going to be. This is a family show. It is a different form of entertainment." "We will see what happens. Hopefully America will like this and put everybody's fears to rest," he later added, saying that NBC had given him no instructions on what he could or could not say. As for whether he might alienate his longtime radio listeners if he is seen as too soft, Stern said he no longer worries after a 35-year broadcasting career. What worried him more, he said, was that people would have to look at his face. "I don't think I am a particularly handsome man. This is a face made for radio, so we will see how it does."

Christina Aguilera may have apologized to The Voice contestant Tony Lucca after Tuesday's finale, but that doesn't mean her feud with Lucca's coach, Adam Levine, has tempered. Longtime news anchor for NBC 5 Jane McGarry was arrested over the weekend under suspicion of driving under the influence. The 56-year old reporter–who is a National Gracie Award winner–was pulled over in Dallas after failing to signal when she changed lanes, and when officers noted her bloodshot eyes and odd demeanor they asked her to perform several sobriety tests, which she failed. Although she refused a breathalyzer test, officials took a blood sample from her, as per their policy. McGarry doesn’t have a prior record but her employer is looking into the matter, according to Brian Hocker, vice president of programming. Hopefully one mistake won’t be the undoing of her career.

NEW YORK (AP) — Adam Yauch, the gravelly voiced rapper who helped make the Beastie Boys one of the seminal groups in hip-hop, died Friday. He was 47. Yauch, also known as MCA, died in New York after a nearly three-year battle with cancer, his representatives said. He had been diagnosed with a cancerous salivary gland in 2009. At the time, Yauch expressed hope that it was "very treatable," but his illness forced the group to cancel shows and delayed the release of their 2011 album, "Hot Sauce Committee, Pt. 2." He hadn't performed in public since 2009 and was absent when the Beastie Boys were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last month. Yauch was an integral, founding member to the ever-weaving trio: three Jewish kids from New York who found widespread respect in a hip-hop world with few credible white performers. In a 25-year span that covered four No. 1 albums and more than 40 million records sold, the Beastie Boys played both prankster and pioneer, a groundbreaking act that helped bring hip-hop to the mainstream. "The group's music crossed genres and color lines and helped bring rap to a wider audience," said Neil Portnow, president of the Recording Academy. "Yauch was an immense talent and creative visionary."

The 46-year-old is the mother to Kaia Gerber with husband Rande Gerber. The couple also has a son, 12-year-old Presley Walker Gerber, and were married in 1998. Crawford was previously married to actor Richard Gere for almost four years. They have no children together. Crawford and Kaia Gerber's participation in the ad campaign comes just a month after Gerber was featured in an ad for Versace's children's line, which showed the 10-year-old in a short skirt and leather jacket. "She did one picture and it ended up going everywhere! I didn't quite understand how much media play it would get," Crawford said in an interview with The Daily Front Row. Crawford later added she was on set while her daughter was shooting the ad. "At this point, she's too young to pursue a career. There aren't even a handful of jobs for a 10-year-old girl," Crawford said. "But if she's 17 and wants to try it ... of course, what can I say?"
