Fergie claims she never loses her temper because she has learned to control it in therapy.

The 'My Humps' singer, who is a former drug addict, is now so at peace that she hasn't had an argument for years.

Fergie, 32, said: "I've been in therapy for a few years so I don't really lose my temper.

"It sounds kind of corny but I like to discuss rather than yell.

"The last time was probably years ago in my early twenties when my ex-boyfriend threw all my clothes off the balcony. We didn't break-up, though. It was a very 'exciting' relationship. Fiery!"

Despite her calm outlook, the Black Eyed Peas singer believes misery is a better emotion for making music.

She said: "Tragedy is more interesting."

Fergie is now dating 'Transformers' actor Josh Duhamel. The couple live together in Los Angeles and Josh has installed a stripper pole in their home for Fergie to entertain him with erotic dances.

Fergie is set to make $4 million by promoting a US clothing firm in her songs.

The 32-year-old Black Eyed Peas singer, who has become the first star to agree to product placement in her songs, will write and perform tracks endorsing fashion company Candie's on her second solo album.

An executive at Fergie's record label Interscope said: "With record sales in decline, you must find novel ways to make money out of the music. The trick is to make the brand part of the song so that it slips down easily rather than chokes the fan.

"Candie's will have no say over exactly what Fergie will sing, or when. Fergie does not sing jingles so it will have to work unobtrusively in the song."

Fergie - real name Stacy Ann Ferguson - has also agreed to appear in Candie's TV adverts and allow Candie's advisors to style fans at her shows.

Fergie is a "total star" and has a "great soul", says her lover actor Josh Duhamel.

The 'Las Vegas' star says he and Fergie have different approaches to dealing with their fame and this makes them the perfect couple.

He said: "She's a real total star. I'm more subdued than that. I'd rather sneak up on people. But that's what makes us work. We have similar fundamental values. We both grew up in similar families. She's just got a great soul."

Duhamel, 35, has dated the 32-year-old 'Glamorous' singer for nearly three years and the pair recently moved in together.

He said: "A girl like Fergie comes with stuff - lot of stuff. And there just wasn't enough room for the stuff."

Black-Eyed Peas singer Fergie has enjoyed solo success with her album 'Dutchess', and recently declared herself "the luckiest girl in the world".

Duhamel hits the big screen in the Michael Bay film 'Transformers', alongside Shia Labeouf next month.

Nelly Furtado has further fueled a war of words between her and Fergie after hitting back at comments The Black Eyed Peas star made about her on radio last week.

Fergie told Los Angeles DJ Ryan Seacrest that she and Furtado had fallen out over a lyrics mix up when she appeared on his morning show last week.

Furtado appeared on the same show this morning and admitted she was puzzled about why her pop rival was still talking about the spat.

She told the host, "We spoke about it face to face... We kinda cleared it up about a month ago... I thought it was water under the bridge."

"I threw the first punch, technically, thinking she had thrown the first punch. She told me she did not and then I said, 'You know what, I'm sorry...' I'm sure we'll be friends again in the future."

"I'm not a bully, I'm just an artist and when you're an artist you have a certain artistic license and when you feel things intuitively and you feel like you've been insulted or hurt you just react."

The Black Eyed Peas star Fergie has written a letter to herself at the age of 17, encouraging her to ditch her "bad perm" and "giant bangs", but praising her principles.

The 32-year-old undertook the exercise in her role as covergirl for Seventeen magazine's June edition.

The "letter to me at 17" reads, "Sure, you'll be a giant flirt and wear sexy clothes, but you'll never take it to an unhealthy level and act on it."

Fergie also warns herself about the rough patches ahead in her life, including her drug addiction and debt problems - but adds,"Don't worry. You'll always come back to your roots."
