London, April 28 (IANS) Actress Zoe Saldana says doing ballet in her teens made her feel like dying from inside. The actress, who then lived in her father's native Dominican Republic, as a youngster enrolled in a specialised dance school - but she quickly discovered that she loathed ballet because she hated performing in silence. "I had to quit ballet because it felt like a part of me was dying inside. It takes a lot of courage to face up to things you can't do because we feed ourselves so much denial," dailystar.co.uk quoted Saldana as saying. Saldana believes that she discovered acting through dancing. "In dance, you use every part of your body except your voice. I wanted to start acting because I wanted to use my voice," she added.

Whether or not her fans agree, Alicia Silverstone doesn't regret feeding her son baby-bird style. "I can understand that it would make some people feel uncomfortable, possibly, because it's new to them," the mother of son Bear Blu, 10 months, told Entertainment Tonight on Friday. "But I do want to let you know that this has been going on for thousands of years -- still going on all over the place -- and it's natural." Back in March, The 35-year-old actress posted a video on her website, The Kind Life, in which she pre-chewed food and had Bear eat it directly out of her mouth. The video sparked a huge controversy on the Web over whether or not the practice -- premastication, or pre-chewing solid food for an infant -- was hygienic. Silverstone defended herself to ET: "It's a part of the weaning process, so while I'm still breast-feeding it's just a way to introduce him to food when he doesn't have teeth… and he can't chew."

Years later, Mya must ‘return from the dead’ to save the younger sister she left behind in Cali, where the young couple contends with angry former business partners, homicidal porn stars, stoner vet techs, an unstoppable killing machine in a cowboy hat and their own contentious relationship. It sounds completely different than anything K-Stew’s done this far, but we know she’ll perform brilliantly. “Kristen is a talented and dynamic actor, with a proven box office draw,” producer Craig Flores said. “Her role in Cali will be edgy and sexy. It will no doubt push the envelope on the public’s view of Kristen’s wide-ranging abilities. According to People, the "Ringer" star, 35, and her fellow actor husband, 36, are expecting their second child. Somewhere etched on a stone tablet are the Rules of Rom-Coms. All romantic comedies, it seems, must have an unlikely couple meet, fall in love, hit an obstacle and then reconcile just before the credits roll. "The Five-Year Engagement" is no different. But it shakes up the formula with some dark comedy (no other romance would use frostbite as a plot point), an adult conversation done with Muppet voices and two stars with charm and charisma to burn. Jason Segel is Tom, a San Francisco chef engaged to his girlfriend Violet (Emily Blunt). The quirky pair is a perfect match and head off to parties dressed as Princess Diana and Super Bunny. But circumstance gets in the way of the wedding plans. First Violet's sister Suzie (Alison Brie) preempts her sister's big day by getting pregnant and planning a shotgun wedding. Then psychology student Violet accepts a spot in a two-year graduate program at the University of Michigan, once again getting in the way of this walk down the aisle. Like many Judd Apatow-produced movies, "The Five-Year Engagement" plays out like a standard rom-com but takes many twists and turns along the way. Some darker touches help separate this from the run-of-the-mill romantic comedies, but they also weigh down the midsection of the movie. Luckily this isn't Kristen Bell, or worse, Katherine Heigl and any standard romantic male lead starring in this movie.

Ryan Seacrest may have some competition for the affections of his girlfriend, dancer and choreographer Julianne Hough; it seems she has a crush on “Idol” contestant Phillip Phillips. Seacrest called her out on it in front of the audience last night after Phillips performed a Dave Matthews Band song, saying, “We were backstage and you ran past my girlfriend and she sighed and blushed. I think I heard her say ‘yummy.’” Phillips, who is a fan favorite, later said he couldn’t complain about a gorgeous woman being “giddy” around him.

A Los Angeles judge granted Britney Spears' fiance, Jason Trawick, to become a co-conservator over the singer Wednesday. According to The Associated Press, Trawick will join Spears' father, Jamie Spears, in helping to manage Britney's personal affairs, excluding her assets. Superior Court Judge Reve Goetz granted the approval after Spears requested her future husband join her court conservatorship shortly after their engagement in December 2011. Spears, 30, has been under a court-ordered conservatorship since February 2008. Her father took control of her personal affairs after the Grammy-winning singer was hospitalized twice after suffering a psychological breakdown. Geraldine Wyle, an attorney for Jaime, told reporters following the hearing that her client was "thrilled" to have Trawick as a co-conservator. Trawick has previously acted as Spears' agent and did attend the hearing Wednesday.

Lisa “Left Eye” Lopez was as well known in the ’90s for her outlandish fashion sense (condom eyepatch, anyone?) and violent temper (she burned down her boyfriend’s house after an argument) as she was for her musical ability, but she did have talent, and I think it got overshadowed a bit by her antics. When she died in a car accident in Honduras in 2002, she left the music world in shock and a lasting influence on people who would eventually get into the business. R&B singer Monica says she was only 12 when she first met Left Eye, but she received some very valuable advice from her that has resonated through the years. Left Eye had some famous conflict with her bandmates before her death, challenging them to a contest between solo albums because she said she wanted her talent to be known. Apparently she felt she wasn’t being given enough creative credit, an issue that was especially heated after her rap was taken out of the single version of “No Scrubs”, one of the group’s most popular hits. Chili and T-Boz fired back, saying, ”We think it’d be best to paraphrase the great poet Iyanla Vanzant…. ‘At a time when unity is so desperately needed it is significantly lacking…. Unity does not mean we will all believe in or do the same things. It means we will agree to do something without battling over how and why.”’ But in the wake of Left Eye’s death, the remaining members of TLC put aside any hard feelings they may have had and banded together to pay tribute to her on MTV.

Buff Bagwell, the former WWE and WCW pro wrestler, was in a bad car accident and is in an intensive care unit at an Atlanta based hospital. This is according to the gossip site TMZ.com. The article goes on to state that the 42 year old former pro wrestler was traveling in his Jeep late Monday when he lost control of his vehicle. Reports suggest he may have suffered a seizure. Buff Bagwell is reported to have a broken neck, as well as several other bones. Although Bagwell never reached the super stardom of men like John Cena and The Rock, he was still a huge part of the 90s wrestling boom. Bagwell started wrestling for WCW in the early 90s as Marcus Alexander Bagwell. The young rookie was a solid babyface character until the mid 90s. When Hulk Hogan and the New World Order turned pro wrestling into a hot ratings bonanza, Marcus Alexander Bagwell went from young rookie to cocky heel. With his signature catchphrase "Buff is the stuff," Bagwell teamed with Scott Steiner and ran rough shot in the now defunct World Championship Wrestling.

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis made it a three-day weekend, sharing a mini-vacation despite their reps’ denials that the couple is dating. Kunis and Kutcher escaped from Los Angeles last Thursday, according to People, by driving to the oceanside city of Carpinteria, Calif., and holing up for the weekend. The two were spotted getting a sushi lunch together on Friday, before hitting a roadside market where Kunis purchased sunflowers. The pair wasn't spotted out again until Sunday, when they popped into a local coffee shop before driving back to LA.

A new trailer for "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" has been released and sees General Joe Colton, played by franchise newcomer Bruce Willis place a sweet order.The trailer opens with an U.S.-led attack on the G.I. Joes, a special strike team called the "ultimate freedom fighting force," which aims to defeat the terrorist group Cobra. Senior fighter Duke, played by Channing Tatum, and fellow franchise newcomer Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's character, a heavy machine gunner and cook named Roadblock, are among the soldiers attacked. The president, played by Jonathan Pryce, announces: "This country is at war. The new special forces unit, Codenamed Cobra, will protect us where the Joes could not. The G.I. Joes are no more." The U.S. leader is actually an imposter - the villian Zartan, played by Arnold Vosloo of "The Mummy" fame. Following the infiltration of the White House, the Joes, led by Johnson's character, enlist the help of the original G.I. Joe, aka Colton. Colton, played by Bruce Willis, points a gun at them and sarcastically places an order for two cases of Girl Scout cookies - Thin Mints.

In her book “Total Memory Makeover”, Marilu Henner talks about what it’s like to call up any memory from any given day in her life–something she’s been doing for as long…well, as long as she can remember. In an amazing feat of the mind, Henner was born with a super-memory, able to flip through any date you give her like a photo album in her brain and recall specific things, like the day she found out she got the part of Elaine Nardo on “Taxi”. “It was June 4 of 1978. It was a Sunday and I found out at the ‘Grease’ premiere party,” Henner said. “‘Taxi’ is so vivid to my mind. The very first rehearsal was July the 5th of 1978. That was a Wednesday and our first show was shot the 14th, a Friday.” And it’s not just that she has memorized particular dates and facts; she can rattle off seemingly inane details about a random day on the spot. She says it’s like having mini-movies playing in her head all the time, a revolving reel of images she associates with certain days.

Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees has woken up from a coma and is also suffering from colorectal cancer, his doctor, Dr. Andrew Thillainayagam, told the Associated Press on April 22. Gibb remains in intensive care . Dr. Thillainayagam said the singer is being treated for advanced colorectal cancer, which affects the colon or rectum, and had caught pneumonia as his immune system was weakened from grueling doses of chemotherapy and two operations. A statement was released in mid-April on the singer's official website which confirmed 62-year-old Gibb fell into a coma after contracting the pneumonia. Thillainayagam reportedly told Gibb's family on April 19 that there was a possibility that the singer would not wake up from the coma. However, Gibb is now fully conscious and able to speak. He is breathing with the help of an oxygen mask and needs intravenous feeding and antibiotics. "It is testament to Robin's extraordinary courage, iron will and deep reserves of physical strength that he has overcome quite incredible odds to get where he is now," Thillainayagam said in a statement posted on Gibb's official Facebook page. "Robin's wife, Dwina and son, Robin-John, his son Spencer and daughter Melissa have been at his bedside every day, talking to him and playing his favorite music to him," the statment continued. "They have been tireless in their determination never to give up on him."

Real Housewives of New Jersey premiered its fourth season Sunday, and while the cast attempted to put the Teresa Giudice-centric drama behind them, the reality star couldn't help but get herself into even more hot water Trekking to the shore with her family, Giudice was quickly confronted by her brother, Joe Gorga, after she supposedly trashed his wife, Melissa, by telling pals that if a "richer man" came along, she'd leave him. "You're supposed to encourage my marriage, not break it down," Gorga told his sister during an emotional confrontation on the beach, that took place as their children -- and Giudice's husband Joe -- stood nearby.

Fans of the American Idol season five champion Taylor Hicks received some exciting news from the man himself during the April 19th Idol results show. Hicks will bring his winning brand of soul to the Las Vegas Strip for an eight-week residency at Bally's beginning June 26th. For five nights a week, Bally's Indigo Lounge will host the harmonica-playing blues-belter. Hicks has kept a relatively low profile throughout 2012, making the Las Vegas residency all the more significant. With his extensive touring experience prior to his 2006 Idol win, Hicks has always been at home on the road. Forty shows in Las Vegas will give existing Soul Patrol devotees a common destination to see him perform, while offering an extended opportunity for the singer to build his fan base. "It's not every day that a property on the Las Vegas Strip can announce that an American Idol winner will be a headlining act," said Bally's Las Vegas President David Hoenemeyer in the resort's press release. But you’d be wrong. In 2001, she became the ambassador for the United Nations Refugee Agency, meaning she visits displaced people in countries all over the world. In 2007 she visited a refugee camp in Chad in order to raise awareness of the tens of thousands of people fleeing Darfur, where a mass slaughter was taking place. “It’s always hard to see decent people, families, living in such difficult conditions,” she said. “What is most upsetting is how long it is taking the international community to answer this crisis.” Jolie was recently named to the post of Special Envoy for the High Commissioner for Refugees, Antonio Guterres, and was sent to Columbia this past weekend to visit people displaced when they were forced over the border to Ecuador. A statement issued by UNHCR representative Adrian Edwards said: “During a decade of service as UNHCR’s Goodwill Ambassador, Ms. Jolie has conducted more than 40 field visits around the world, becoming an expert on the phenomenon of forced displacement and a tireless advocate on their behalf. In her new role, she is expected to focus on large-scale crises resulting in the mass displacement of people, to undertake advocacy and represent UNHCR and Mr. Guterres at the diplomatic level, engaging with relevant interlocutors on global displacement issues. Ms. Jolie will focus on complex emergencies and will work to facilitate lasting solutions for people displaced by conflict. High Commissioner Guterres is grateful to Ms. Jolie for accepting this role at a critical time in global displacement. Scores of conservative South Korean Christians will pray together on Sunday against Lady Gaga's Seoul concert, organisers said, accusing the US pop star of advocating homosexuality and pornography. The pop diva arrived in South Korea on Friday, a week before her Seoul performance which kicks off her "Born This Way Ball Global Tour." About 300 Protestant church members will gather in downtown Seoul Sunday night to hold a group prayer against the concert in the capital, Kang Ju-Hyun, a prayer organiser told AFP. "We will pray to God that the concert will not be realised so that homosexuality and pornography will not spread around the country," he said. Kang, who leads a group called Alliance for Sound Culture In Sexuality, said other major church groups would join his campaign by holding protests around the Seoul headquarters of Hyundai Card, the concert organiser. The Korean Association of Church Communication vowed last month to take "concerted action to stop young people from being infected with homosexuality and pornography." Kang's group last week put out street banners in Seoul accusing the eccentric singer of "spreading unhealthy sexual culture" through "lewd lyrics and performances," before they were removed by the city officials. South Koreans aged under 18 have been banned from the much-anticipated concert after it was rated unsuitable for younger audiences.

Unforgettable's Daya Vaidya is pregnant with identical twin boys. "Yes, I'm having identical twin boys in July! Just got back from an ultrasound and they're looking good! Soooo happy!" the actress, who plays Nina on the CBS crime drama, tweeted on Wednesday. Vaidya, 38, and her husband, Don Wallace, are already parents to 2 1/2-year-old Leela Grace.

Justin Bieber decided to taunt Mariah Yeater, the woman who claimed to be the mother to Bieber’s baby. Bieber took to twitter with the following post. “Dear mariah yeeter [sic]…we have never met…so from the heart i just wanted to say…” with a link that directed users to a clip of the Sacha Baron Cohen character Borat saying, “You will never get this, you will never get this, la la la la la.” Yeater claimed that when Bieber was 16 he had sex with her backstage at one of his concerts. Bieber adamantly denied there was any possibility of that happening and took a paternity test to prove it. Yeater, through her lawyer, defended the allegations but as soon as the results of his paternity test came in she dropped her lawsuit. There was a lot of speculation as to why Yeater went after Bieber if the allegations weren’t true. There are several plausible explanations that have surface. The first was that she was ashamed to admit she was pregnant by her then boyfriend so she made up the story about Bieber to calm her parents down. They decided to escalate the situation and she was then too embarrassed to admit she was lying.

Sheree Whitfield is reportedly not joining the fifth season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Whitfield announced her plan of leaving the show during an interview with Wetpaint Entertainment on Wednesday, April 18, 2012. In the interview, Whitfield said that “After four solid seasons of helping Bravo build the show into its most successful Housewives franchise, I have decided to leave.” Whitfield reportedly revealed that the current cast of The Real Housewives of Atlanta made her decide to leave the show. She explained that “The direction the show is going in is no longer a fit for my lifestyle. I’m tired of the fighting and the cattiness. I want to be part of something that empowers and inspires women to not only be healthy, but to treat themselves with respect.” Leaving The Real Housewives of Atlanta, however, has opened up the star’s options to other television offers. Whitfield said that she is “thrilled to say I’m now a free agent and am already fielding offers.” Whitfield‘s decision to leave the show was confirmed by Bravo TV Network. In a statement, the network said that, “We have enjoyed working with Sheree as part of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. We wish her all the best in the future.

Mariah Carey's body has bounced back after giving birth to her twins -- Moroccan and Monroe -- last April, but not without some hard work. "Pregnancy was probably the best and the hardest thing I'll ever go through. I know for a lot of women, it can be wonderful and relatively easy. But for me, it was like 'Okay, honey, do you have to do everything the hard way?'" the star said in the May issue of Shape magazine. "I used to be able to slim down just by exercising more, but that's changed. Since having the babies, I realize that 90 percent of losing weight is my diet," she continued. The 43-year-old said her workout regimen is not intense, but consistent.

Their sitcom is returning May 30 for a second season on ABC Family. One promo for the two-episode premiere shows Lawrence minus his shirt, pecs bulging and glistening. (Maybe he borrowed some baby oil from Hart?) In the other promo, Hart is holding a purse in front of her midsection.

Hart, who is marking her 36th birthday Wednesday, announced the upcoming event Tuesday afternoon on Twitter: "(Early) Happy Birthday to me! And baby makes 3!" A photo of Hart, her two boys and her husband (shirt on) makes the announcement extremely cute.

Hubby would be Mark Wilkerson, lead singer of Course of Nature. Their son Mason Walter is 6 years old, and son Braydon Hart turned 4 last month.

Hart started in showbiz when she was Braydon's age, according to IMDb, in a bathtub-toy commercial. As a teen she starred in the hit Nickelodeon series "Clarissa Explains It All" and then in 1994 moved to "Sabrina: The Teenage Witch," which lasted until 2003. A 2009 spin on"Dancing With the Stars" preceded "Melissa & Joey."

But this is the first time Hart will be pregnant while starring in a TV show. Should be fun. Cue the basketball.

Eddie Van Halen says he struggled with alcoholism in the past in part because his father encouraged him to drink before performances.
Speaking with Esquire magazine, a now sober Van Halen says, “I don’t mean to blame my dad, but when I started playing in front of people, I’d get so damn nervous. I asked him, ‘Dad, how do you do it?’ That’s when he handed me the cigarette and the drink. And I go, Oh, this is good! It works!”
Van Halen, 57, reveals that he has been battling cancer, and has had pieces of his tongue removed as part of the treatment. He now smokes electronic cigarettes.
It has been a long road for the lead-guitarist. He tells Esquire that in 2006, after stints in rehab, he wanted to stop drinking and switched to Klonopin. That became a problem for him as well and recounted that for about one year he was “catatonic.” “All I wanted to do was stop drinking. But instead I literally could not communicate. Yeah, I was gone. I don’t know what dimension I went to, but I was not here.” He sat on the couch and watched episodes of “Law & Order.”

Madonna’s 15-year-old daughter, Lourdes Leon, has picked up a bad habit, as the teen was recently spotted smoking a cigarette.

The Material Girl herself isn’t very happy about it.

“[I] wasn’t very happy,” she told Rock Center‘s Harry Smith in an interview clip that aired on the TODAY show this morning. “Honestly, I don’t think I’m as tough as I should be. I think I need to be maybe tougher.

“It’s hard – every day is a negotiation,” she added. “But cigarette smoking I’m not very fond of – for anyone.”

While most see Madonna as a pop diva, the “Vogue” singer, 53, says her four children usually get to see a very different side of her.

LOS ANGELES — Dick Clark, the ever-youthful television host and tireless entrepreneur who helped bring rock 'n' roll into the mainstream on "American Bandstand," and later produced and hosted a vast range of programming from game shows to the New Year's Eve countdown from Times Square, has died. He was 82.
Clark had continued performing even after he suffered a stroke in 2004 that affected his ability to speak and walk.

Ryan Seacrest, who took over main hosting duties on the countdown show from Clark, said in a statement Wednesday that he was "deeply saddened."

The three-time Grand Slam winner has remained a blonde, but most of her earlier long hair is now gone, and the new haircut finishes just below her ears.

Yesterday, the blogosphere was alight with speculation that former That 70′s Show stars Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis were seeing each other for purposes outside reminiscing about their days on the sitcom.

Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know" started with a spare, nylon-stringed ­guitar riff lifted from "Seville," an instrumental recording by the late Brazilian bossa nova guitarist Luiz Bonfá.

The two notes, looped, ­became a conversation in the head of Wouter "Wally" De Backer, the ­gregarious 31-year-old Belgian-born, Australia-based artist who performs under the name Gotye (pronounced "Gauthier"). "That Luiz Bonfá sample directly prompted the first line of lyrics," Gotye recalls, a thick Australian accent burying any trace of his European roots. "The back-and-forth left me thinking about these ­different breakups and different relationships over the years, and the lyrics flowed from there."

That eureka moment came in the fall of 2010, although it would take Gotye another six months to find the female vocalist who gives the track its knockout punch. In fact, he says he toyed with abandoning "Somebody" at the recording stage, when his (unnamed) original choice of female vocalist pulled out. Frances Bean Cobain is blasting her mother, Courtney Love, over comments made earlier this week.

Love wrote on her private Twitter account that former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, 43, had "hit on" her 19-year-old daughter, and "she was curious."
