Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie's reality TV show 'The Simple Life' has reportedly been axed.

The socialites will not film any more episodes of the show - which sees them try their hand at a series of low paid jobs - after TV network E! decided not to commission another series.

A network insider said: "We felt like the real life drama of their lives overshadowed anything happening on the show.

"Viewers would see Paris all day long on the news about her going to jail, so they didn't care about seeing her camping with kids. It was a case of overexposure."

Show insiders also claim Nicole infuriated TV bosses with her diva-like behavior in the recent fifth series.

The source said: "Paris carried the show. She was the one willing to do anything. Nicole was the diva."

Paris Hilton has landed an acting gig. The hotel heiress revealed that she’s been cast in a movie musical at Tuesday night’s Save the World fundraiser for the Eating Disorders Information Network at Parc nightclub in Hollywood.

“I’ve been rehearsing every day—seven hours a day,” P.H reported, “We’re just in the studio. We’re doing dance and singing. We go shoot next month in Toronto.”

She isn’t allowed to reveal anything more but added the flick is a “very cool and unique project.”

Paris has been taking acting lessons since her late June release from California State custody on probation violation charges.

Paris Hilton is planning to swap her gas-guzzling Range Rover SUV for a Ford hybrid, after the car manufacturers gave her an eco-friendly vehicle as a gift.

Paris said at music magazine BPM's green party at Los Angeles' Avalon nightclub: "I'm getting a car from Ford, a hybrid one.

"They gave me one. So, I think driving hybrid cars is the new way to go, and recycling."

'The Simple Life' star - who recently spent 23 days in jail for driving with a suspended license - is also planning to use her MySpace page to encourage fans to go green.

She said: On my MySpace, I'm going to start writing about ways kids can help save the world, because anyone can do it, no matter how old you are or where you're from.

"I just want this world to be a better place for my grandchildren.

"I'm scared with what's going on in the environment, so I hope people will help and make a difference. Everyone can."

Victoria Beckham has reportedly warned Paris Hilton to stay away from her soccer star husband David.

The Spice Girl, who moved to Los Angeles with David and their three sons earlier this month, was said to be furious when she heard the hotel heiress had described the Los Angeles Galaxy player as "hot".

"Although she trusts David 100 per cent, she will not tolerate any of the Los Angeles party girls making a move on him, or seeing him as fair game. She wants this to be very clear from the start - David is a devoted family man and these women should forget about trying it on with him.

The 26-year-old socialite's perfume and jewelery collection brought in £1 million each last year, while she collected £10 million for personal appearances.

Paris can charge £50,000 a time just for showing up at her favorite haunts and is once believed to have been paid £673,000 to wave to a crowd in Australia for 20 minutes.

And then I don't remember anything else. I woke up at 5 pm in between them both on her bed. I couldn't find my clothes and I was thinking, 'What did this girl give me?'

"I was woken up by banging on the door because she's meant to be on set at 3 o'clock and they're still passed out. I looked through the peephole and there were these big security guys banging on the door."

Victoria Beckham has reportedly turned down Paris Hilton's offer of friendship.

She told Britain's Star magazine: "Paris is hideous, but I think she's amazing at the same time. I love her."

Lily also revealed she is a big fan of 'The Simple Life', the US TV show Paris stars in with her close friend Nicole Richie.

The show sees the two friends take on a series of different jobs, including being farm hands, cleaners and fast food workers.

Lily said: "I think 'The Simple Life' is genius. I can never figure out if Paris plays up for it or not."

Socialite Paris Hilton is pampering herself after serving a 23 day prison sentence, by vacationing in Hawaii.

The recently-freed star was spotted arriving on the islands on Thursday (28Jun07).

But her attempts to avoid the prying eyes of the press aren't fooling anyone - paparazzi photographers quickly unraveled her unsophisticated disguise of a black wig and straw hat.

Hilton was released from Lynwood, California's Century Regional Detention Center on Tuesday (26Jun07) after being jailed for violating her probation from a drink driving arrest.

Paris Hilton's younger sister Nicky is reportedly annoyed her sibling was release from jail early - because she was forced to cut short her trip to Greece to join the welcome party.

The Simple Life star was released from jail on Tuesday (26Jun07) after serving 23 days of a 45-day sentence for violating her probation from a 2006 drink-driving arrest.

But designer Nicky, 23, is allegedly angry with her parents for "dragging" her back from the Mediterranean, where she was attending a fashion show with her boyfriend David Katzenberg, to show a "united front" for her sister's release.

A source tells the New York Daily News, "Her parents dragged her back because they didn't think it would be good for the family's image if they didn't show a united front.

"She loves her sister, but she thinks the whole media circus is ridiculous."

Paris Hilton has been offered a $1 million-a-year contract to host a US local radio show.

KDWB Radio - which broadcast to Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota - have offered the hotel heiress the six figure sum to co-host their morning show.

Current host Dave Ryan said: "We need a co-host. She needs something to do. It's playing music and talking while sitting on a comfortable chair. There's very little stress or anxiety and absolutely no metal toilets!"

KDWB's vice president Mick Anselmo said: "We're serious about it. It's just a matter of working out the details."

The 26-year-old already has a career as a singer, actress and reality TV star and is president of three businesses - Paris Hilton Entertainment, Paris Hilton Enterprises and Heiress Records.

She has her own signature perfume and jewelery line, fronts a mobile phone gaming service, had her autobiography on the best-seller list and also earns up to $200,000 for public appearances at parties and social events.

She was listed on Forbes magazine's Top 100 Money-Earning Celebrities at number 56 last year with an estimated annual income of $7 million.
